Development of the theoretical and experimental bases in the field of nanosecond and microsecond generators production for the great pulse repetition frequency values at voltage range to 150 kV - a priority tendency.
This type of a generator allowed for acquiring a little-studied phenomenon - the volume streamer discharge constantly burning in a gas medium. The research of the phenomenon, ignition in multiphase and condensed media, and also the study of applied aspects of this phenomenon refers to the next tendency of the research activity of the department.
The applied value of the phenomenon is supposed to evolve towards use of the volume discharge for purification of furnace gases, nanomaterials production and compact shaping, influence on rheology of liquid viscous media, and other possible applications.
