The National Research Foundation of Ukraine announces a competition for projects to implement scientific research "Advanced Fundamental Science in Ukraine 2027-2029".
The competition is aimed at supporting advanced fundamental research, which involves the formulation and solution of current scientific problems by teams of leading and young scientists in response to modern challenges and demands of Ukrainian society, in order to ensure Ukraine's competitiveness in the world, promote the development of national research potential, and integrate into the global research space.
Thematic areas of the Competition: fundamental scientific research on the most important problems of developing scientific and technical, socio-economic, socio-political, and human potential to ensure Ukraine's competitiveness in the world and the sustainable development of society and the state (priority area defined by paragraph 2 of Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine "On Priority Areas of Development of Science and Technology").
Duration of implementation of projects that will be selected based on the results of the Competition: up to 3 years.
The total amount of financing for projects that will be selected based on the results of the Competition: up to UAH 800 million (in 2027 it is up to UAH 300 million, in 2028 – up to UAH 250 million, in 2029 – up to UAH 250 million).
Applications for the competition are accepted from March 25 to April 24, 2026.
Deadline for conducting scientific and scientific-technical expertise and summing up the results of the Competition: by December 15, 2026 (approximately).
