The main areas of scientific research of the department:

  • comprehensive studies of pulsed field processing of melts and determination of mechanisms by which their quality is improved in the solid state;
  • research into the mechanisms of material deformation using pulsed pressure, modeling of these processes in order to develop scientific foundations for optimizing their main energy and technological parameters;
  • research into technological aspects of the use of pulsed processing of metal materials, including their integration with traditional processing methods;
  • conducting exploratory research aimed at creating and improving the technical and technological developments of the department in order to expand the applied applications of scientific results;
  • development of technological processes, technologies and appropriate equipment for pulse processing of metal materials in both liquid and solid states;
  • issuing recommendations on the implementation of completed scientific and scientific and technical developments;
  • organization of scientific and technical activities related to the manufacture, testing of equipment and its introduction into production.

Scientific research work

Research project III-27-18 No. DR 0118U000341 "Study of the processes of electric current treatment of aluminum-based casting alloys during melting and crystallization, which provide a favorable morphology of the iron-containing phase and increase the service characteristics of castings"«, Customer – National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, deadline for research work: start – Q1 2018, end – Q4 2020, scientific supervisor – Volodymyr Mykolayovych Tsurkin, leading researcher, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor.

Research project II-20-17 No. DR 0117U000356 “To investigate the influence of pulsed electrohydraulic deformation of high-strength steels on the spring effect during sheet metal stamping and to develop recommendations for the design of technological processes that ensure high accuracy of part manufacturing”, customer – National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, term of execution of research work: beginning: beginning – I quarter. 2017, completion – IV quarter. 2021, scientific supervisor – Kosenkov Viktor Mykhailovych, senior researcher, candidate of technical sciences, senior researcher. The work was carried out under the target scientific program of the Department of FTPM of the NAS of Ukraine «Promising structural and functional materials with a long service life, fundamental foundations of their production, connection and processing» (budget program 6541030).
