The main areas of scientific research of the department:

The main scientific direction of the department's research: development of science-intensive methods for purposeful change in the properties of matter in order to create scientific foundations for promising technologies for pulse processing of materials and condensed media.

Components of the scientific direction of research:

  • Development of scientific foundations of electric discharge dispersion, activation and synthesis of composite powders and their consolidation using specialized electrical equipment.
  • Development of physical and technological principles for controlling the processes of phase and structure formation in the material under conditions of spark-plasma sintering.
  • Development of methods for obtaining composite metal-matrix materials with enhanced physical, mechanical and operational properties.
  • Development of methods for obtaining epoxy composite materials with enhanced performance characteristics.
  • Research of the effect of electric discharge on the physicochemical properties of viscous hydrocarbon media and other disperse systems.
  • Research and development of experimental spark plasma sintering facilities
